Digital Love collaborated with 21C Museum Hotels to create an exceptional suite of photo and video assets for their nationwide "Nightcap at the Museum" promotion. Featuring Angel’s Envy bourbon in exclusive branded glasses, the program offered guests a uniquely memorable experience across all 21C properties. Digital Love was tasked with visually capturing this concept across three distinct 21C properties: Louisville, Lexington, and Kansas City.

Client Goals and Project Background

21C Museum Hotels aimed to bring their "Nightcap at the Museum" program to life by showcasing its refined and artistic appeal. This initiative was designed to highlight the hotel experience with the unique offering of a nightcap: wander through the gallery, mingle at the bar or retire to your room! The project required visually stunning assets that spotlighted the branded glasses, reflected the modern yet approachable ambiance of the hotels, and provided a versatile library of content for digital ads, social media, and branded campaigns.

Pre-Production and Creative Planning

To align with 21C’s artistic and high-end brand identity, we engaged in an extensive pre-production phase. We collaborated with 21C to develop concepts that would showcase the elegance of the nightcap experience within the unique settings of each hotel. Locations in Louisville, Lexington, and Kansas City were selected for their distinctive architectural elements and art installation, offering visually engaging backdrops. Models were sourced, and wardrobe and props were carefully curated to complement the brand’s aesthetic and nightcap experience. A detailed shot list was created to ensure key moments, such as close-ups of the branded glasses and lifestyle interactions, were captured perfectly.

"One of our favorite scenes was a spontaneous set up in a art exhibition featuring a colorful video backdrop. The moving artwork danced across our models faces we captured video and still photos of the dynamic visual. Shooting very small "nightcap" glasses in larger scenes, was definitely a challenge, but our team used intentional compositions, props and lighting to make the glasses and bourbon really pop!"

Execution: A Multi-City Production

Shooting throughout two days in three different locations, our team brought the "Nightcap at the Museum" vision to life. We captured a mix of posed and candid scenes that highlighted the promotion and showcased each hotels' unique atmosphere. Natural, ambient and studio lighting were skillfully combined to create drama in each frame. Each location—from Lexington’s dynamic art gallery to Louisville’s moody interiors—was approached with a tailored perspective, ensuring a cohesive yet location-specific narrative that aligned with the overall brand story.

Results and Impact

The final assets delivered significant value for our client, 21C Museum Hotels. They elevated the visual identity of the "Nightcap at the Museum" program, creating a memorable impression across digital platforms. The engaging imagery captured audience attention and drove participation in the promotion.
